When a woman’s attempt to escape an abusive relationship fails, she takes desperate action to get on to The Launch.
‘The Launch’ is a short film set in a Britain of the near future, where the world's scientists are preparing for the historic EXO 1 launch, an event that will see them leaving Earth to establish a new life in space. For Sabrina, a Black British former science teacher, this represents a unique opportunity to escape her abusive relationship with Scott, a white British security guard, and provide a safe future for her unborn child.

Sabrina's hopes are shattered when Scott discovers that she has been chosen for the EXO 1 launch. Seizing the chance to profit, Scott sells Sabrina's precious ticket, a silver cuff, to a stranger, enriching himself in the process. In a moment of desperation and fear, Sabrina takes extreme measures and kills Scott. She’s unaware that a drone captures an incriminating image of her with blood on her hands.

Determined to secure her place on the EXO 1 launch, Sabrina remembers that her neighbour, Toni, also possesses a cuff. As she realizes how close she is to achieving her goal, Sabrina becomes relentless, willing to go to any length, even committing murder once again, to secure her spot on The Launch.
